    • Nakamura Ayami (Sugisaki Hana) is a rare high school student who is devoted to her family. When she comes home from school every day, she would take care of her grandmother, Izawa Sachiko (Kusabue Mitsuko). Sachiko suffers from dementia. In fact, Ayami went to the school nearest to her house in order to take care of Sachiko. Lately, Sachiko has been returning to the memories of her youth often. Her episodes of slipping out of the house and roaming about have also increased. This distresses Ayami. Meanwhile, Miyahara Kazuya (Koseki Yuta), Ayami’s classmate who sits next to her, has feared “getting dirty” since childhood. His obsession with cleanliness is the reason why he was bullied in elementary school. Now he is able to touch foreign objects without resistance, but he still cannot make himself come into contact with people and skin. Even a slight touch of the hand of Ayami, whom he has a secret crush on, would give him a hypersensitive reaction … …
    • After class one day, Kazuya encounters Sachiko, who is absorbed digging a hole in the woods at a shrine. Sachiko mistakes him for her late husband, Tadanobu, and grips his hand. He feels panic, but the shock soon wears off. Because he could take Sachiko’s hand, Kazuya realises that his fear of human contact has waned. Ayami arrives in search of her grandmother, and is happy to see a smile on Sachiko’s face for the first time in a long while. She asks Kazuya to meet her grandmother again as Tadanobu. But why was Sachiko digging a hole at the shrine? Knowing that her actions appear to be related to an incident in the past, Ayami and Kazuya visit Sachiko’s younger sister, Negishi Kyoko (Kusamura Reiko). According to Kyoko, Sachiko, Tadanobu and herself had buried their mother’s pendant in the woods of the shrine during the war because of an order to retrieve metals. To Sachiko, the pendant is something to remember their mother and also Tadanobu by. Kazuya meets Sachiko in an attempt to handover the pendant that they had borrowed from Kyoko. However, instead of mistaking Kazuya as her late husband, Sachiko regards him with dread as a stranger. From that day onwards, the relationship between Kazuya and Ayami gets subtly awkward. In the midst of this, Fukada Kensuke (Yamada Yuki), the classmate who bullied Kazuya during elementary school, shows up in front of him … …
