Avalokitesvara 不肯去观音 [C-Movie] (2013)

During the Tang Dynasty, Yu Xiufeng makes a ceramic statue of the Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara to protect the young prince Li Yi. When the holy statue is finally complete, Xiufeng stumbles across an orphan baby girl whom he decides to raise as his own. He names her Little Lotus. Since she had appeared at the same time as the statue, everyone assumes she must be an incarnation of Avalokitesvara in the human realm. Twenty years later, Little Lotus has become an attractive young woman who is always very compassionate because her adopted father told her that anyone she meets on the street might just be her real mother or father. Little Lotus is benevolent as the Bodhisattva. Then a Japanese monk, Hui’e, is sent to China on a mission to bring the statue to Japan. With the help of Little Lotus, he succeeds. But no sooner is the statue loaded onto the boat than a fierce storm arises.
