The idea that a pair of shoes, simple shoes, can change a families life on levels of loss and aspiration are indelibly portrayed in this film. Acting is beyond anything Hollywood could imagine, story beyond what many can relate to. At the same time, the story sucks you in and takes you to a place you forgot. Memorable, heartfelt and involving ideas lost in western materialism. Watch it and feel your childhood. Thanks Biru, don’t stop. Love what you are sharing.
Yes, who knew a story about shoes could be so engaging? Simplicity and focus, they’re the main points of a movie.
i remember watching this on national tv and crying buckets cursing Ali, i felt like my beloved brother jst betrayed me once again like he always do when we play together, promising one but giving me another…hahaha~ i wz jst a kindergarten-kid n this movie wz nothing less than the cruel everyday reality back then! ^^*
