    Okino Ichiro (Shiina Kippei) is the new manager of Shinto Bank’s Ikebukuro branch office. On a courtesy call, he meets Maekawa Nami (Ashina Sei), the beautiful proprietress of a luxurious traditional Japanese restaurant and a widow. Okino falls in love with Nami at first sight. In order to measure up to her expectations, he pushes through the necessary loan for the expansion of the restaurant. He also visits her frequently and gradually gets close to her. While his relationship with Nami develops into an affair, his relationship with his wife Yoko (Arimori Narimi) is a loveless one. Okino has been pressed by Yoko’s father to have children quickly. However, that is impossible because his work is regularly exhausting. Yoko is also physically and emotionally drained by the situation. Okino devotes himself even more to Nami in order to cast off his family problems. One day, Kuwayama Hideki (Ishiguro Ken) comes to see Okino. Kuwayama is Okino’s was university classmate but is Shinto Bank’s managing director. Although he has become the son-in-law of the bank’s president in order to lift his career, he continues to womanise and Okino has even been taken out several times to handle the aftermath. At that moment, he is informed that Nami has come to discuss the loan. Because Kuwayama shows interest in her, Okino has no choice but to set Kuwayama up with Nami. Several days later, Kuwayama who has come to visit Okino again, proposes a drive to Atami with Nami and Okino. The next day, at a high-end inn in Atami, Kuwayama publicly makes a pass at Nami in front of Okino … … From that day on, Nami no longer answers Okino’s phone calls or meets him. As if to add insult to injury, Okino’s unhappiness continues. Yoko gets taken away in an ambulance and a notice of personnel change in which Okino himself is to transfer the Gunma branch office is issued. This transfer is obviously a demotion by Kuwayama. Sinking to the depths of despair, Okino hires the services of the investigator Imuta Hirosuke (Sasano Takashi) and Fukumitsu Kitaro (Nakao Akira), an extortionist he met in Gunma, and vows revenge against Kuwayama and Nami.
