New File Host…Again

Man, those file hosts are dropping like fireflies. For those of you who haven’t heard, DDLAnime is officially dead. Their servers in NL were seized by the feds and they have ceased operation. (Note: if any of you purchased a premium account from them, you can get your money back by filing a dispute (just a couple of clicks here and there), choose “Unauthorized Payment” as the reason, at least that’s what the DDLAnime Admin suggested)

This happened 7 days after I finished uploading 31,000 files to DDLAnime, and it took me 90 continuous days.

Previously, I recommended FileToLink as a new file host. However, they weren’t as great as I had expected. Out of 11,000 files, appx. 2400 of them just disappeared. I’ve reuploaded those 2400 files and plan to post it since I don’t want it to go to waste. For the record, I checked those 2400 links, and about 50 of them were dead.

Now, on to our new file hosts, http://jumbofiles.com and http://2shared.com, both of them offer no waiting times, no captcha, fast speeds, and parallel downloads, so be sure to try it before you pass judgment on it, even if you tried it in the past, try it again.

The reason why we’re adding two new hosts is in anticipation of the time when MF ends up deleting our account for the 7^th time. If or when that happens we will no longer use MF as a file host. Most of you have no idea what we had to go through every single time MF has deleted an acct, all the reuploading, sorting, organizing, verifying, and reposting of over 31,000 files and 1400 listings, then take that and multiply it by six times. (UPDATE: I was hoping to finish all the uploading before MF deleted our account, but I only got through A-F and U-Z. However, I still have them backed up on another account, so I can use those links to upload them to JF and 2S.)

(Note: 2shared doesn’t have a premium account system, so we’ll have to rely on download activity to keep the files alive)

So far, I’ve finished uploading 0-9 and A-F as well as U-Z. I’m going to need help reposting these files. If you have time, then please post a comment below with your username and email address. (Note: comments have been disabled for posts but not for pages like this.)

(Update: we’re done copy and pasting A-F. I’ll have U-Z ready within a couple of days. As for the rest, it’ll take up to 3-4 weeks to finish all of it. I’ll be sure to email you kind volunteers with the new links when they’re ready.)

PS: The main purpose behind providing multiple set of file hosts is just in case one of the links gets deleted. In other words, if someone is downloading JF links and they come across a dead link, they can still download that file from one of the other filehosts. Unfortunately, most people are unable to figure that out. Instead of downloading from the other file host which provides the same files, they’ll just post a comment saying that the file is deleted and to reupload it.
