Zhang Li Yi (played by Yeh-Shing Kwang [Iron Monkey, 1993]) is a teacher at the local college and is masquerading as a Ming rebel hoping to help overthrow the Ching officials with his comrades. He has his hands full dealing with a class of students who’d rather play practical jokes on each other rather than learn (including Yung Wang Yu [Dirty Ho], Yuen Tak [The Master] and Chiang Kam [Flag of Iron]). High ranking official Lao-Yi Hu (played by Hwang Jang Lee [Hitman In The Hand Of Buddha]) arrives to crush the remains of a Ming rebellion with his seemingly unbeatable kung fu. After Lao’s purpose is revealed and teacher Zhang and his students barely escape, they train in seclusion in Zhang’s Monkey Fist technique to overcome Lao’s high-kicking style.
