  • Summary:

    Set between the years 1877-1918, this Special follows the story of Yone (Amami Yuki) a young woman who has recently been divorced but whose older brother quickly finds her a new husband in the owner of Suzuki Shoten, a small sugar trading company. While her new husband is a bit of a taskmaster, Yone nevertheless comes to raise both her own family and the family of employees in the ever-growing company. One of those employees is Kaneko Naokichi, a happy-go-lucky fellow with a dedication for trading which runs deep within him. When circumstances force Yone into taking over Suzuki Shoten, it will be Kaneko who drives the company forward to it’s ultimate destination: being the largest trading company in all of Japan. Still, Kaneko will be forever loyal to Yone, his “Oie-san”…
